CentreTerm '21: Library Services
Below is information about library resources, assistance, and services for CentreTerm '21. The library will remain closed to foot traffic for the short term while we prepare to reopen safely for the spring term!
As always, if you have a question that is not covered here, please feel free to reach out to me at carrie.frey@centre.edu.
UNDER CONSTRUCTION!
We are renovating the main floor of the library! This activity, along with the pandemic, affects our ability to be open in the usual way. The front of the library will see an upgrade in terms of opening up the space. We are adding more seating and the Learning Commons will be incorporated into the space. You will not notice a difference in the library services we offer, but tutoring and peer mentoring will be coordinated through the Learning Commons, directed by Brian Cusato.

Although the library is closed to foot traffic, there will be librarians and staff in the library:
Staff are easily reached by emailing library@centre.edu or using our chat service! |
UNLOCKED and OPEN: Mon-Fri: 8:00am - 5:00pm SWIPE ACCESS only: Sun-Thurs: 5:00pm - 10:00pm **The CTL Media Lab is open Sun-Thurs, 5:30pm - 10:00pm. Swipe access only.** |
We are not open to foot traffic, but if you need books from the collection, we provide a pick-up service!
We will not be providing hard copy course reserves this fall. We will digitize materials if needed. We must follow copyright guidelines for digitizing materials. Our usual guide is 10% of a book and we cannot digitize consumable materials (workbooks). Contact us at library@centre.edu with requests or questions.
Librarians can provide digital copies for you of book chapters and we can also print articles from our databases for you and place them on the pickup table in the lobby. To ask for these services, email library@centre.edu.
There are lots of ways to get quick help from a librarian!
Some libraries are not lending physical hard copy books yet. Our Kentucky courier service will start up again in September. This is subject to change, so we will be in contact as we have information on this service. You may still order journal articles via interlibrary loan.
ITS is installing printers in the basement of Crounse. Cleaning supplies will be available in that space. Please prioritize digital transmission for papers and class materials to follow health and safety best practices.
STUDENTS: Consult printing help and instructions from ITS!
