"Why did the library stop loaning chargers?"
- Chargers don't hold up to constant checkout, and they regularly disappear.
- Over the years, the library has invested thousands of dollars in laptop and phone chargers that too often are never returned.
"But what if I need a charger?"
- Plan to carry your own chargers with you to class and around campus.
- If you need to replace your phone charger, both CVS and Dollar General are within walking distance of campus and carry a variety of affordable charging cables for phones.
- If you need to replace your laptop charger, both Amazon and Walmart carry Apple and Windows laptop accessories that can be delivered or picked up locally very quickly.
"I really need a laptop for the semester - what do I do?"
- The library offers a number of desktop computers fully loaded with campus software programs and is open 106 hours each week during the semester.
- If you require a laptop for your studies but can't afford one, please meet with the helpful people in the Financial Aid office to better understand your aid package. Often there is a balance (after tuition and room and board are deducted) that you can use for technology, books, etc.
"What technology can I still get from the library?"
- Short-term (1-2 week only) laptop loans, both Windows and Mac: For when your laptop is being repaired or for other short-term needs (like conferences, presentations). Available for reservation here.
- All kinds of other cool gear and equipment! DSLR cameras, video cameras, film-making accessories; PA systems, projectors and much more! Browse all the different equipment and reserve here.
"What can I get that I don't need to reserve?"
- Visit the Circulation desk for these useful items: Headphones; personal whiteboards; whiteboard markers; portable DVD drives; USB flash drives; index cards; pencils and pens; staplers; scissors; tape dispensers and more! Just ask us for any supplies you need while studying in the library!
