History: Primary Sources: Home

Introduction

This is a Research Help guide for locating primary sources. Primary sources are materials which were created closest to the person, historical event, or time period being studied. Examples include newspaper articles from the time period in question; first-hand accounts such as diaries, journals or letters; or other printed materials, recordings or artifacts from a particular era or event.

It is not intended to be comphrehensive, but contains information on selected resources in the Centre College Library, as well as links to materials that are available elsewhere. The guide provides information on both print and electronic resources.

Use the tabs at the top of the page to find help in locating books, reference materials, journal articles, and more.

If you can't find exactly what you're looking for, please use our Ask-a-Librarian instant messaging service, or stop by the library's Reference Desk for more help.
