How Do I Find Articles?

You can search for absolutely anything in the library catalog search box.

But you can also find articles on a topic by using an article index -- a database containing articles from lots of journals, newspapers, or magazines. An article index may provide full-text articles or a list of citations -- the author, title, journal, volume, issue, and page number information you need to locate the article. Indexes can also include citations to book chapters, conference reports, and more.

Academic Search Complete
Academic Search Complete gathers articles from a wide array of disciplines: arts, humanities, sciences and social sciences.
JSTOR
Originally containing digitized back issues of academic journals, this digital library now also includes books and primary sources, and current issues of journals.
ScienceDirect
A large database of scientific and medical research, hosting over 12 million pieces of content from 3,500 academic journals and 34,000 e-books. The journals are grouped into four main sections: Physical Sciences and Engineering, Life Sciences, Health Sciences, and Social Sciences and Humanities.
LexisNexis Academic
This subscription service accesses a wide range of news, business, legal, medical and reference information, most available in full text. It covers newspapers, magazines, wire services, federal and state court opinions, federal and state statuses, federal regulations and SEC filings.
Historical New York Times
Includes all articles published since the first issue of the newspaper in 1851 and through 2008.
