Library Technology Resources

Crounse Training Laboratory

The Crounse Training Laboratory is located on the lower level of the library. The lab is open the same hours as the library, and is available for students when not in use for library instruction courses or Center for Teaching and Learning workshops. Faculty and staff may reserve the computer lab online here for non-recurring classroom sessions (please contact a reference librarian if you wish to reserve the lab more than three times in a single term). Print jobs may be retrieved at any of the three printer/copier workstations located on the main level of the library.

Equipment Reservation

The library offers an extensive inventory of technology equipment, available to all members of the campus community but for short-term use only.

Laptops, Personal

Personal laptops can be used in the library to access the campus network. For instructions on connecting to the campus network, visit the ITS website and consult the Online Knowledge Base. Printing from personal laptops to the library's printer/copier workstations requires use of the PaperCut online printing system which is maintained by ITS. Instructions and help are available here.

Library Network

Wireless Grace Doherty Library is fully covered with campus Wi-Fi. Campus Guests: ITS maintains a guest wi-fi network. Please connect your devices to that while visiting campus.

Library Computers

Several Windows desktop computers are available throughout the main floor for use. Student use takes priority but all desktop computers have a guest login feature as well.

Photocopying

Three printer/copier/scanner units are located on the main level of the library. A valid Centre ID is required for use. College policies governing the cost of photocopying are in effect for these stations.

Printing

All library reference computers and Crounse Training Lab computers are configured to print to the campus printer system, accessible at any of the printer/copier units located on the main level of the library. A valid Centre ID is required to print. Policies governing the cost of printing are in effect for these stations.

Printing, Color

The Library does not have a color copier/printer. Centre Document Services now handles all color printing on campus. Please contact CDS for more information.

Scanning

The printer/copier machines may be used to scan and send documents via email. There is no charge for scanning!

Software

All library computers and Crounse Training Lab computers have a campus-wide installation of software provided by ITS. Please visit their site for more details.
