Centre College Grace Doherty Library - Technology Lending Policies


  • Equipment loans are limited to current Centre College faculty, staff and students with a valid college ID and no blocks on their library record. Those not affiliated with Centre College may not borrow equipment, even if they have borrowing privileges for print materials.
  • Equipment must be checked out and picked up from the library according to our equipment exchange hours:
    • For the academic year:
      • Sunday: 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm
      • Monday - Thursday: 8:30 am to 11:00 pm
      • Friday: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
      • If you need equipment for the weekend, reserve and pick up by Friday at 5:00 pm.
  • Item due dates are viewable via your library account page
  • Returned items must be handed to a library employee at the Circulation desk. Equipment may not be returned in the book drop or left on the desk.
  • Equipment loan periods are typically one week (7 days) but can be extended to two weeks in certain cases. Please email Circulation staff to ask about an extension date.
  • Equipment will be declared lost when an item is more than 3 days overdue.
  • The borrower is responsible for the care of the equipment from the time it is handed over at the Circulation desk until it is returned to a library employee. Lost or damaged equipment will be billed at the full cost of the item plus a processing fee. 
  • It is the borrower’s responsibility to delete all files from the equipment before it is returned.
  • IMPORTANT: Our equipment lending program is meant to provide access to these technologies, but not necessarily instruction on use. Users are encouraged to review provided information, QR code links to online videos and information from the manufacturers' websites for detailed operating information. Check the item's bag and library tag for helpful links and/or documentation.
  • Library employees will not provide technical support or instruction on using the equipment.
