How to contact a librarian for help

To contact a librarian, email us or book an appointment with us using the links in the "Your librarians" box on this page and all Research Guides. You can scroll through the pictures to see all the reference librarians and their subject areas.

You can also find these links, as well as a chat box for immediate chat assistance, here:

Watch the video below for more information.

How to find books and articles

In the video below, we show you how to use the library catalog and databases to find books, e-books and articles for your class research.

Here is a link to the library catalog.

Here is a link to the library databases.

Please note: if you find an article in a database like Academic Search complete (as shown in the video above) that would be useful for your research and one of the links says that it is available via HTMLFull Text, as in the image below:

If you click to view the article using the HTML option, you will be able to translate the article into a variety of languages using the translate drop down at the top of the article page:

This can be very helpful if you find a useful article in a language you do not read. If you need help with this feature, or with any aspect of finding articles for your research, do not hesitate to contact a reference librarian.

How to use Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

Sometimes, the Centre Library does not have a book or article you need. In that case, you can try to get the book or article from another library using Interlibrary Loan. The videos below explain how ILL works and how to use it.
