Peer Research Consultants: Home

What does a Peer Research Consultant do?

Peer Research Consultants are upperclassmen who have the research skills needed to assist their peers in one-on-one and group settings with the research portion of their writing assignments. Peer Research Consultants can help students with many parts of the research process including:
  • Understanding the research assignment
  • Defining the research topic
  • Understanding the types of sources required
  • Finding primary and secondary sources
  • Evaluating if a source is appropriate
  • Citing sources
Peer Research Consultants facilitate peer learning and expand the reach of the Library– think of it as the Writing Center, but for research!
