The Food and Nutrition Information Center (FNIC) is located at the National Agricultural Library (NAL) of USDA. The FNIC web site contains over 2500 links to current and reliable nutrition information.

Healthfinder is a consumer health information Web site from the United States Government. Health and human services topics covered range from Alzheimer's to women's health; programs like Head Start, Medicaid, Medicare, and Welfare; information on drug safety, food labeling, food safety, and nutrition; and clinical preventive services, public health, and medicine.

The mission of the NIH is "to seek fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and the application of that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability."
