IST 210 - Research Design: Find Secondary Sources - Books

Don't forget the books!

When doing research, students often forget that books can be valuable resources. Due to the process required to publish a book, information contained in books is often older. Despite that, books offer a researcher the opportunity (and space) to explore a topic more thoroughly. Therefore, reading a chapter or two of a book, or scanning an entire book for keywords (either digitally or using its print index), can provide researchers with a more in-depth understanding of a topic. Also, the bibliography of books can be an excellent resource for additional information.
