The Integrated Public Use Microdata Series (IPUMS-USA) consists of more than fifty high-precision samples of the American population drawn from fifteen federal censuses and from the American Community Surveys of 2000-2011. The IPUMS is not a collection of compiled statistics, but rather a collection of microdata; each record is a person, with all characteristics numerically coded.

If you are gathering international stats, be aware that the definition of some variables varies among countries. Try to find sources that have compiled international stats on your topic as these have likely already been adjusted to account for definitional differences.
