Centre Course Reserves

To submit a request for materials to be placed on reserve, use this link:  https://centre.libwizard.com/f/reserves

There are three types of reserves for student access:

  1. Electronic Reserves uploaded to Moodle:
    1. These include book chapters or journal articles that cannot be accessed through our online databases.  We must obtain copyright permission and pay for these materials to stay within copyright compliance.
    2. If we have electronic access to an e-book or journal article, you can include the permalink in your course without submitting a request to us.  When possible, we prefer you use permalinks instead of PDFs in your course as we cannot pull usage statistics unless the material is accessed from a link. (If you need assistance with generating stable links, please contact Jazmine Wilson, our Electronic Resources librarian.)
  2. 4-Hour Closed Reserves organized by your name and course and kept at the Circulation Desk:
    1. These include DVDs or books for short-term access by students, to watch or read chapters. Closed reserves help manage student textbook costs. They can read an assigned chapter or watch a film within the 4-hour checkout time.
    2. If we don’t own the material you want on closed reserve, please submit an order to our Book It ordering system, available on your CentreNet Faculty page (after login).
  3. 3-Day Open Reserves organized by your name and course and kept at the Circulation Desk:
    1. These include books for 3-day student access and use. Open reserves often contain faculty-selected books on a certain topic for students to browse and narrow down their own research topics.
